The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, pardoned 613 prisoners in honor of the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

"The exercise of the President of Georgia’s exceptional powers, granted by the Constitution, is based on the principles of humanity and state interests. Thanks to this exceptionally humane gesture, the pardoned individuals have been given the opportunity to return to their families and once again become full members of society," reads the president's statement on social media, as reported by the Public Broadcaster.
