Officers of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, following operational and investigative measures, detained a citizen of the Russian Federation for the possession and sale of alcohol without an excise stamp.

The investigation established that the accused, for material gain, illegally stored and sold the alcoholic beverage “BELUGA,” which is subject to mandatory excise marking.

The accused was detained immediately after selling the alcohol without an excise stamp.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to identify and hold accountable any other possible participants in the crime.

The investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for a penalty of 6 to 8 years of imprisonment.
