The planned New Year’s events will be held for 27 days on First Republic Square, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at today’s meeting of the municipal government.
“From December 12 to January 7, Tbilisi City Hall is planning various entertaining and spectacular events. Thematically decorated New Year’s spaces will traditionally be filled with cultural, educational, children’s, and other thematic activities, as well as concerts of different genres,” said Kakha Kaladze.
According to him, the central New Year tree will also be lit on December 12.
“On December 12, simultaneously with the lighting of the central tree, New Year’s illuminations will be switched on throughout the city. First Republic Square, specially decorated for the holiday, will welcome residents and guests of Tbilisi starting December 12. Once again, I want to call on private companies and representatives of the business sector to traditionally join us in creating the New Year appearance of our city — both in the ‘New Year Village’ and in squares and parks throughout the city,” Kaladze noted.
