Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance detained a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, U.O., born in 1993, on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and import of narcotic drugs into Georgia in a particularly large quantity.
On the territory of the Sarpi border checkpoint, law enforcement officers seized as evidence a particularly large batch of the narcotic drug “cocaine” — 21 packaged doses discovered during a personal search of the accused.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment for up to 20 years or life.
