“If we can ease the situation for the population, including those living in Abkhazia, we will do so, but we will do it within the framework of the ‘Law on Occupation,’” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in response to a question about the supply of fuel from Georgia to the occupied territories.

According to the head of government, the existing legal framework, including the “Law on Occupation,” allows for such actions.

“If such a step has been taken or is taken, all such steps will be carried out within the framework of the ‘Law on Occupation.’ If we can ease the situation for the population, including those living in Abkhazia, we will do so, but we will do it within the framework of the ‘Law on Occupation.’

We also have the ‘A Step to a Better Future’ program, which is specifically designed to support the population living there, not only the Georgian population but also the Abkhaz population. It was not done by us; it was done by the business sector. If any such step is taken, it is taken within the framework of the ‘Law on Occupation,’” the Georgian Prime Minister said.
