The Georgian beer market has shown steady growth over the past four years, with a 2% increase estimated for 2024, according to Nikoloz Khundzakishvili, Corporate Affairs Director of Efes Georgia. Speaking to Business Partner, Khundzakishvili highlighted the positive dynamics within the sector, reflecting consistent consumer demand and industry expansion.

“This year, the beer market has grown by about 2% compared to the previous year, reaching an estimated 136 million liters. Back in 2021, the market stood at 119 million liters, and by the end of 2024, its volume will have increased by around 15%,” Khundzakishvili stated.

He also noted the record-breaking growth of 2022 when the market surged by 11%, reaching 131 million liters. Looking ahead to 2025, Khundzakishvili predicts the market will expand to approximately 140 million liters, driven by multiple factors influencing consumer behavior and industry trends.

Currently, the Georgian beer industry comprises about 60 companies, with four major players accounting for over 85% of the total market volume. Imported beer holds less than a 10% share of the Georgian market, underscoring the strong presence and high quality of locally brewed products, including licensed brands such as Löwenbräu and Staropramen.
