“What is happening in Ukraine should be given not only political but also a correct legal assessment,” said Mikheil Sarjveladze, a member of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

According to Sarjveladze, the international community reacted properly, adding it was difficult to make prognosis in advance, though.

“The procedures are defined and it is important to begin a legal reaction on the events taking place in Ukraine. It is the right approach that the international community, through the formats existing in the form of legal instruments by the modern humankind, responded to the developments in Ukraine, and this process will continue,” Sarjveladze said.

The Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin accusing him of committing war crimes in Ukraine.
