The design and construction of the marine infrastructure for the deep-water port of Anaklia on the Black Sea coast of Georgia has started.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the "Anaklia Seaport" company, which is part of the ministry's system.
The design and construction of the port’s water infrastructure is being carried out by the company "Jan De Nul." The first phase of the work is actively underway.
As the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated at the groundbreaking ceremony, the port's first phase will have a capacity of 600,000 containers per year, with an estimated investment value of $600 million.
Additionally, around 500 people will be employed in construction and logistics during the first phase of the project.
